Introducing Emma Grace

Emma Grace Walti arrived on Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 at 7:46am.

She weighed in at 8lb and is a whopping 22" long!

We just got home this afternoon, so will post more later about her arrival, but we are all doing fabulous and Jack is loving his role as Big Brother.

Welcome, Emmy girl, we love you so much and are blessed to have added you to our family!!!

The Waiting Game

...is killing me!

I am 41 weeks pregnant today - recording this for BW2, but wish that I was instead recording his/her birth announcement! I am trying very hard to keep everything in perspective, as we just had a friend from college have his baby at 27 weeks and 2.7 lbs, so this full-term probably over 8lb babe sounds pretty good. At my appointment on Friday, I am still 1cm dilated and very high, not really effaced. They did a non-stress-test and I am having contractions, the baby is healthy and has adequate fluid, and he thinks there is room in my pelvis to deliver naturally.

Physically, I have to admit that I actually feel pretty good. I am having all the "signs" of labor - contractions, cramps, and others that don't need to be mentioned...but they last for a while and then disappear. Another long walk and stairs will take place later today. Mentally, I just keep waiting, having my last "nighttime" with Jack, our last "family dinner", etc. I know that it will happen soon (if not, then the docs will make it happen for me!), but I keep thinking - TODAY is THE DAY every morning when I wake up and tell Scott "Yep, I am still pregnant."

Today is Pop's (Scott's Dad) birthday, so maybe this one is trying to get into the will by sharing a birthday! :-) Or perhaps trying to hold out until April 15th to make the 3rd generation of CPAs?

What a Lucky Boy!!

Today has been beautiful!

We went for a long walk this morning and Jack's buddies up the street were outside - THE LINCOLN PARK FIREMEN!!!!


They were all SO nice to Jack - took us on a full tour of the firehouse, explained the differences in all of their trucks (did you know that a FIRE ENGINE is the truck w/ the hoses and a FIRE TRUCK is the truck w/ the hooks/ladders?), let Jack drive the truck and play with the gauges. He (and Scott, let's admit it) was in HEAVEN. He kept asking "What dat do?" and just walked around the house like he owned the place. He even got to see all their coats, boots, and hats...very intrigued.

The fire chief topped it off by giving Jack an ice cream sandwich from their kitchen...So special, What a LUCKY BOY!!!

**Yes, we are still going strong at 6 days past due - this baby is either already giving me fits as the 2nd born or I am a very cozy kangaroo!!!!

Happy Easter

The Goods - The Easter Bunny always goes overboard...

Jack had a wonderful Easter weekend spent with his cousins Lily and Sam and his grandparents. I spent Saturday doing last minute errands, cleaning, and trying to get this baby moving (didn't work, obviously) and we went up north on Saturday night.

We went to church on Sunday morning (where Jack told me he cried "I Need My Mommy" in nursery the entire time) and just played the rest of the day. He loved his Easter basket this year with it's 4 foot snake (loves snakes), Curious George stamps, bath toys, and of course, CHOCOLATE.

It was a wonderful weekend to spend together. I am an emotional wreck with leaving Jack, thinking about my "baby" not being the only baby, etc...so hopefully the doctor tells us some news this morning to calm my anxiety!

We hope that everyone had a blessed weekend with loved ones!

The Finish Line...

Well - we passed April Fool's Day (thank goodness) and on to Easter Weekend, so I guess time will tell if we have ourselves our own little Easter surprise!

The past few days I have definitely felt "different" - stronger contractions, crampy, just know that I am getting closer to holding this little babe! I think Scott, Jack and I are ready - the house is clean (nesting like crazy), Jack is set to spend the week with Ama, Pop, and is cousins if necessary, and Scott and are are still narrowing down names! We have a doc appointment on Monday morning where they will do an ultrasound and non-stress-test to check the baby for fluid and weight - will have more answers then if nothing happens before - Scott will not let me go on any long walks or do lunges until tonight and he can get a little more work done today for that April 15th deadline... :-) We will spend tomorrow up in Libertyville if I feel up to it with church service, Easter Egg Hunt, and hopefully spending a beautiful 70 degree day outdoors as a family of 3!!

Jack and I have had a fun couple of days to hang out in this SPECTACULAR spring weather that we are having up here, including some good paint time, trips to the park, and fun on our back deck. Pappaw, Nana and Aunt Kitten sent him an Easter Basket in the mail with this water squirter and he is taking full advantage of spraying me any chance he can get - it is a blast.
