I have had such a fun summer with my best friends in Chicago - and we are not over yet!

It is starting to come to a sad end, however - 2 of them are moving in a month. Nikki to Denver and Kate to Columbus - Scott, Jack and I will miss you so much!!!

We had a 30th birthday/going away party for Kate and her husband Darren this weekend and it was yet another very fun night out. They are moving to Columbus in a month for a new adventure and we are so excited and proud of them. Scott and I feel so lucky to have such an amazing group of friends here and they have been so supportive with Jack - we all have a blast together!

A Very Exciting Day!

Well, we had a very fun and exciting day here on Larrabee Street.

First, Jack and I visited a new place to play - Pump It Up. It is an activity center that is like a big bounce house! Needless to say, he (okay, both of us) had a BLAST! It was so fun to see the PURE JOY on his face when we were bouncing around and going down the super-fast slides. Momma got a work-out too - it took me back to my cheerleading days and this morning I am already sore! :-)

Secondly, President OBama drove through our neighborhood! He was having dinner ($30K a head, seriously!) at Penny Pritzker's home (one of his biggest supporters and the heir to the Hyatt fortune - she also donated a lot of the $$ for Millenium Park) who lives a couple of blocks away (in a home sitting on 8 Chicago lots!) and he drove down our street! It was fun becuase everyone was outside and the kids were excited and waving little American flags. My neighbor got some great shots; notice the special agent staring him down.

We'll see if today lives up to yesterday's fun - we are off to the mall and then Date Night for Scott and I tonight!!

My Bucket List

Going to an Elton John/Billy Joel concert has always been something on my life's to-do list. Thanks to our friend Nikki, Scott and I were able to attend a rooftop for the fun show at Wrigley on Tuesday night! The sound was amazing and it was so fun to see it at Wrigley and stand outside to hear the show - and Nik even babysat - YOU ARE AWESOME!

They put on a great show and we had a great time. We are feeling a bit spoiled this week, we have a babysitter on Friday and Saturday night, too!!! :-)

Throw me up, Daddy!

I cannot upload any lake photos yet, as I have not gotten another camera; that is on my to-do list for this week! I do however have the below video of Jack at the lake which is super-cute (If I do say so myself...). You all know how much he adores the water, and the lake was no exception. It took him a little while to adjust to the seaweed, but in the end he loved swimming, being tossed around and he even took a run on the jet-ski with Dad!

Recovering

Why do we always feel like we "need a vacation from vacation?". In any sense, We are home!

We had a perfect time at Lake Silkworth and I am so proud of how well Mr. Jack did on the 2 12 hour car rides - awesome with no meltdowns!

Pictures to follow, but not without a minor hiccup...on Wednesday, my hilarious husband thought it would be funny to jetski 10 ft from the dock to cause a huge wave to overtake us as well as our camera and his blackberry! Ended up being an expensive joke. We fished it out of the lake and my memory card actually works - So, pics will come after I either get a new camera this week or borrow a friend's to download them.

All in all, a wonderful week away and we had a great time being outside with 5 toddlers (also exhausting), eating smores, drinking Summer Shandy, swimming, laughing, and just being together.

Vacation!

We are off to Jack's first time at the Walti family lakehouse in Pennsylvania today - a 15 hour car ride, but we hope to be doing a lot of this next week!!!

We did make it to a little water park this weekend down the street - at least he had his swimmies on here! :-)
