Where is my BABY?

**Yes, having some "Emma time" this week is making me VERY emotional and sentimental! I have been going through old pictures of both kids and videos...But NO, that does not mean that it is time for another baby! :-)

Big Brother took a surprise trip up to Grandma and Pop's for the week with his cousins Lily & Sam, so we get some Princess Emmy time! It was so fun spending time with her last night alone and learning more about her...I sometimes forget how much more time Jack got/gets as the oldest and any way that we can carve out some Emma time is great!

Emma is missing her Jacky, though, yelling "Jackkkkk," "Jackkkkk..." all throughout the house looking for him. :-(

Fun Family Weekend

It was great to be all together again this past weekend after having a bachelorette party last weekend (um, amazing...I am seriously still laughing from the time with my best friends!) and Daddy being in LA last week.

It started with Pizza / Movie night on Friday...and sister joined in the fun and watched some of the movie before her 7:30 bedtime!

Saturday was a Mommy/Jack date to Great America for my firm's summer outing! It was Jack's first time at an amusement park and he liked it OKAY...we went on some smaller "kiddie" rides and he did fine, but after the "big kid roller coaster," he was screaming, then smiling, and then said "Mom, I don't want to go on any more roller coasters." It was fun, but exhausting! I didn't even think to bring a stroller for him at 3.5 years old, but that came to bite me when I was carrying his 40 lbs for the last 2 hours, Oops!







Sunday was a full family day filled with sleeping in and puddle jumping! Our kids love this and it was so fun to watch Emma really get into it (literally, she was SITTING in the puddles).







Emma is really coming into her own...last night she woke up at 11pm, I went into their room to check it out and she stood up and said "I Poop." What?! Am I going to be potty training this girl at 18 months? Girls are SO different!



We had Emma's 15 month appointment last week and she is still 95% for height (almost 33") and 25-50% for weight at a whopping 21.5lbs. Our little peanut. :-) She has not had an ear infection for a few months (hallelujah!), and the doc said all is good - she has slight bowing in her legs, but nothing to be concerned about. She was very pleased with her communication skills and all was good! The 2-3 word sentences are starting..."Here you go," "I do it," (Lord help me with another strong-willed child...) "My paci," and others. This stage was SO MUCH FUN with Jack and it is a blast going through it again with Emmy.

Sad news...Jack and I cleaned out their toys yesterday and we put Emma's "baby toys" in storage...remember Sophie?

I can't believe we don't have a baby anymore! :-(

Bad Hair Day?

Nope... Just getting her molars in, a 103 temp and a sleepless night... :-(. Poor Tweeter.

My Tweeter Girl

Our 15 month-old little pumpkin is experiencing a VOCAL EXPLOSION. She literally repeats almost anything you say to her and is actually very clear in pronunciation. Her new feat is a couple of "multiple word sentences" such as "here you go" (when she hands us something), "No, Jack" (obvious), "I Need," and "Hi, Pop." I will video her soon... Emma can say everyone's name in our family except for the G's - Grandma and Grammy...we are working on it!

She is also great at saying "Tank U" when you hand her something and then very clearly saying "Please" when she wants something. Little Miss Manners!! Unfortunately, with the good, comes the bad...Jack has taught her "No" (VERY clear and adamant!), "Mine," and "Poop." I try not to laugh when she says poop, but it takes every bit of strength I have, as it really is cute in her little voice!

Here is a little clip of her talking...it is from 2 weeks ago and she has a ton more words...you can also view some of the constant brother/sister battles that take place nightly in the bathtub!

Emma is a true delight - different than Big Brother in many ways, we are finding. A TRUE Girly Girl (she loves her baby dolls, her purses, and now LipGloss!) and is a woman who knows what she wants! Having her "use her words" more is really helping with the sassiness and brings her more immediate satisfaction. She does get jealous when Mommy or Katie is holding or playing with Jack alone, so we need to work on that. On the flip-side, Emma is a MANIAC to keep up with! So, so, so active and all over the place. She is very close to running and is FAST - people are amazed at what we let her do at the playground, but she LOVES it and is a little dare-devil. The bruises, scrapes, and cuts on her legs are attest to that...the girl will not be modeling anytime soon.

She and Jack are getting along great...Emmy is so TOUGH. He is definitely testing his boundaries with her - pushing, head-butts, etc., but she usually just takes it in stride and then goes and tries to comfort him when Jack gets put in Timeout for his actions. She does NOT like it when Jack cries or gets in trouble.

The girl eats like a horse (She eats all day long, is obsessed with water bottles/drinking, and I believe she has surpassed Jack in food consumption. Her favorite foods currently are cheese ("CHEEEESE!!!"), peanut butter, blueberries, avocado, and pretzels. Her body is hilarious, and Katie made a good point the other day that she is a little Q-Tip - long skinny body, with a cute head on top! She still only has 6 teeth, but has become more and more smiley, and is still our cuddly baby!

Oh, And....her hair is long enough for a baby bop and mini-pony! It is getting blonder and blonder, and this week at the lake, she may be platinum with a french braid! :-)

I just love her to pieces and can't get enough of her cutie little face!

Happy 4th!!

So far we have...caught 3 fish, gone 2 days without a nap (Jack), learned 2 new words (bike & swim), gotten our own little chairs (Ems obsession), eaten our weight in corn on the cob, gotten blonder, and made some great memories....
