I can't believe it! One month until we get to snuggle our newest little bundle! Can't wait for that new-baby smell!!!
Both excitement and anxiety have set in for me. Both Scott and I like having a newborn in the house...provides some peace, love, new smiles. But I am a bit anxious about getting it all settled at home (I am in major purge mode and would like to trash 50% of our possessions) and making sure Jack and Emma are prepared. I know that babies don't need much, but I do want to provide as clean, organized, and relaxing space as possible, which isn't easy in 1500 sf!
We'll get there...just my crazy hormones taking over.
I had my first super-fun internal exam this morning - 1cm dilated and baby is not engaged (still high in pelvis) but is head down, so great news. Still on track for a May 17th due date...I was 10 days late with Emma and do not plan to do so with this one...brief talk about a 39 week induction, but I would like to see how I feel in a couple of weeks. Part of me is saying "you've been there/done that, an induction would be easier to plan for the kids" and then I think "that is the cool part about labor - it could happen at any time and is the natural thing to do...". So, we'll see.
Overall, feeling tired but pretty good. Not sleeping great at night, my hips kill and i cannot wait to sleep on my stomach again!!! I am a little nervous about these next few weeks at home with J & E as I just cannot move around quickly and am having contractions even on walks to the nearest park, but also really want to spend good, fun quality time with them before they share the spotlight.
Scott took vacation this week just to hang out at home, which was so nice and a luxury. I was able to sleep in a couple of days, take some naps, organize, clean, and get out with my girlfriends. Next up is getting the infant seat out, finishing washing newbie clothes, and trying to rest up!
This kid is bound to be so laid-back as #3 that it will sleep through the night at 3 weeks, right?! :-). Getting excited!!!!
