I was so lucky and blessed to have grown up with my grandparents next door and I spent many a day/night at their house (which was ALWAYS an open door for Bubb and I) either cooking with Gma or watching Gpa work in his shop. They are memories that I will never forget and hold so dear to my heart. My grandparents are SO SPECIAL to me and 2 of my absolute favorite people in the world. My grandmother is the kindest person I know – so little and sweet and beautiful! My grandfather is HILARIOUS and wirey, but also loving and I think I got my gift of gab from him!
Grammy and Grandpa Binford…
Relaxing…Calm…SPOILED!
Whenever we visit my mom and Dale’s house, we always spend the entire weekend on their back deck which is uber-relaxing and peaceful. The food is always plentiful and they both go out of their way to have our favorite things on hand and treat Jack with special toys, games, etc. this is the “hang out spot” for us all and we have a great time! My mom is in love with her grandkids and it shows in the big smile on her face! we couldn’t ask for more! There is always lots of reading and running around naked (gator pool!) and my Mom loves every minute of it…they are so accommodating and helpful! And Grammy always has the “giant bear” which is a big draw for Jack like the specialty beer is for Scott…
Pappaw and Nana Knowling
FUN…FUN…FUN
That pretty much sums up the time that we spend with Pappaw and Nana Knowling – FUN! Jack literally laughs the ENTIRE TIME he is at their house and it is adorable – he loves how “silly” Pappaw is. My Dad is OBSESSED with his grandchildren (in a good way) and he always makes the time that we spend at their house (or in Florida – special treat!) a great time. Jack thinks that he has his own boat, his own kayak, his own golf clubs…you name it, all it takes is a “please, Pappaw?” and it is in the kid’s hands. Nana does the baths, and Pappaw does the boat rides and dances Reggae. And Pappaw always makes dirty martini’s for Mommy. :-) They are both so loving and generous and we appreciate them (and Aunt Kitten!) very much! Can’t wait for our family vacation to Bonita next month – COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS!
Pop and Ama Walti
PATIENT…JOYFUL…SPECIAL
I have never met two people more suited to be grandparents then Scott’s parents, Pop and Ama. I not only lucked out in marrying the most fabulous man but I inherited his unbelievable parents and siblings in the transaction! Pop and Ama stop EVERYTHING for their kids and grandkids. They have never once turned down an invite to watch Jack or to help out in any way that they can. They live 40 minutes north of us in the CUTEST TOWN EVER (my dream town) and their house is filled with toys (Ama is a child development specialist and her garage is like Toys R Us!), trips to the local Lake, and an awesome yard that Jack loves to mow with his Pop. Ama makes everything a learning experience and a song, and Jack and Emma both adore them – Ama is the “baby whisperer” and Pop is the apple of all the grandkids eye (and for more reasons than the unlimited ice cream shop trips!)
THANK YOU to all of our children’s grandparents and to my own – you are all so special in your own ways and we are SO LUCKY to have you in our lives!!!
