Steamin'

What we do on a day with a heat index of 107:


1. Mommy chooses the hottest day of the year to run out of gas on 94...I blame the new car as I was totally banking on an extra 30 miles after the "low fuel" light went on. I guess it really DOES mean LOW FUEL.



2. Fun playdate with friends in suburbs, yet it is so hot the big kids didn't even want to swim and Sophia (AKA Mini-Jack) started to strip.



3. Making kale chips- YUMM!!



4. Vegging out to Busytown (I am pretty proud that they only watched 45 min of TV even without being outside!)






5. Lots of playdoh (notice what a HOT MESS Emmy looks)



6. More vegging out from Soph...check out that chunk!



7. Dinner in a fort- Jacks idea to "shield us from the sun" - it was fun!

We survived day one of hotness...planning tomorrow at a Bounce House and hopefully some beach/swimming time this weekend, but I don't even want to take Sophia out in this heat!

First Field Trip

I accomplished my first long outing / field trip with the kids last week - we tried out a new museum with a good friend, Faith, and her twin boys. It was great!


Sweet Sophia literally napped in the Ergo (um, it is awesome!) for the 2.5 hours without a peep! It was a great space to explore and not overly big where the kids could get lost, but they could all do their own thing.

So, it was a success...as long as Soph stays on this 18 hour-a-day sleep schedule, it should be an easy summer!

Graduation!

Jack had his 3 year old Preschool graduation last night and it/he was adorable!

It was a "Hollywood" theme and they sang a lot of songs they have learned including " Theres No Business Like Show Business," counted to 10, said the Pledge of Allegiance, and told us their name and what they wanted to be when they grow up (Jack said a Superhero).









Jack is one of the oldest and biggest in his class, so that was funny to see. I asked his teacher for feedback earlier in the week and she had great things to say about Jack - "he is sweet, always tries everything, is very smart and quick to learn, never excludes anyone, and that the shyest boy in the class that doesn't talk to anyone will talk to Jack.". :-). A proud parent moment.









J is excited that we are on "summer break" since preschool, soccer, and tee ball are all ending this week...I told him yes, but that there would still be Mommy School and chores, which garnered a sigh!

Tomorrow is actually the first day in a long time that we have absolutely NOTHING planned on a week day. Looking forward to a lazy morning breakfast, trip to the park, and maybe the library in the afternoon with a trip to the beach this weekend - supposed to be 90!!

Relax...

This is my view this morning...just Soph and I relaxing on the porch, planning out our week...

Pappaw, Nana, and Aunt Kitten took Jack & Emma for the next few days to the Indiana Dunes and back to Indy to give us some rest and time with Sophia - we are so grateful and looking forward to sleeping and spoiling #3!!

Planning to update photos and blog this week as I have more time and then the kiddos come back on Wednesday just in time for Jacks 3yr old preschool graduation!
