Well, I hate to break it to ya, Soph, but Mommy is already treating you like the third kid...your blog updates are way behind, photos are fewer, and you have a certain 4 and 2 year old in your face 24/7. THE GOOD NEWS is that since you are my first baby as a full-time mom, I rarely leave your side, and you get to enjoy the "all-you-can-eat buffet at your leisure. :-)
Very behind, but here are some Sophia highlights of
the last 2 months:
--2 month check-up was 11lb 12oz (75%) and 23 3/4" long (off the chart).
--eating from one side about every 2.5 hours
--sleeping about 5 naps during the day, usually after eating
--"last" feeding around 10pm, sleeps until 3am, eats, up again at 6am, sleeps until 8:30
--first long road trip to Pops Lake in July - 13 hours and she did great!
--started to really SMILE and coo at 2.5 months! Has a cute dimple on her left cheek!
Other items of note at 2 months:
--took a couple of bottles; 4 oz
--still doesn't mind tummy time and has a very strong neck
--LOVES to snuggle - favorite position is on our chests or standing up to look around
--getting more blond hair
--eyes still very dark blue
--much more alert / hands opening more and more
Updates at 3 months:
--no doc check in, but I bet she's close to 13/15 lbs and seems longer every day! Still resembles Jack to most people
--SUPER smiley! Love her big, gummy smile and her sweet breath in the morning is one of my favorite things
--last feeding is around 8pm, sleeps until around 4am, back down (next to me...awesome) until 6am, and then she LOVES sleeping in until around 9am all snuggled on Mommys side of the bed. It is adorable. Soph is still in bassinet next to our bed (mainly as there is nowhere else to put her!!).
--VERY laid back personality unless she is hungry or has gotten accidentally kicked by a sibling - then she lets you know it!
Literally is strapped to me in her Ergo on about every outing, and is out like a light - it is like the magic baby Tylenol PM.
--now really likes her pacifier-whimpers when it falls out during naps
--adores her brother & sister - smiles and laughs (yes, we are getting certified belly laughs!) when they talk to her
--clutches onto my shirt or necklace while nursing and really holding onto our hands as a soothing mechanism
--eating about every 3 hours, sometimes both breasts, especially at night. She is a very quick nurser...super easy. I should really pump and let Scott give her bottles more, but it is so much more work...
Other fun facts at 3 months: --Nicknames: Soph, Soph McGoph, Gopher
--smelliest toots ever! And loud!
--rolling from front to back and trying back to front. Likes to sleep on her side.
--naps 50% of the time in Emma's crib, or in bouncy seat or my arms :-). A solid 3-4 40 minute naps a day.
--Size 2 diapers, moved up to 3-6month clothing
--has discovered eating her hands and blowing raspberries
--does not really spit up much
--loves to be outdoors and enjoys watching the trees move
--DOES NOT like loud noises or to be startled
--doesn't mind the car - likes to look at herself in the mirror
--still likes tummy time; close to being about to sit with props
--experiencing a little separation anxiety with me - cries when I leave her view. :-(
--just so happy. Her big smile makes my day.
--I might be a little obsessed with Sophia - I seriously want to smother her with sweet kisses and squeeze her all day!
Sophia, you are a light to all of us and we LOVE you so very much! It is so fun to watch your big brother and big sister dote on you and introduce you to everyone they meet as "Our baby Sophie Mae."
But stop, time, you are losing your baby-ness and it's making me sad!
