2 going on 20…

Our little boy is growing up fast...

The first of many “milestones” yet to come is that the PACI FAIRY visited our home on Friday!  We were going to make it a bigger deal, as we have been talking to Jack about her coming, what we were going to do with the pacis, etc.  But…I couldn’t find a paci anywhere when getting ready for bed on Friday, so we decided that was the night!  Mentally he did great – he asked if she “came in his room” , “was she from Abby’s Flying Fairy School?” (Sesame Street) and “can I keep my blankies?” smiled and was okay!

Then Saturday came and that was a whole new ballgame.  My son needed Paci-Detox.

We were late to getting down for nap, so that combined with no paci culminated into World War 4, which turned into NO NAP.  Well, NO NAP combined with no paci and getting a stomach bug turned into WW5 at bedtime.  Not a good night! 

Sunday was better with no crying at naptime, but then Jack got sick (uh, yeah, in the middle of DQ, that was super-fun) and asked for his paci to calm down.  I felt badly that we couldn’t give it to him, but it would take longer to break the habit if we were to given in.  He ended up being so sick and tired Sunday night that it was fine.

So!  I think that he is starting to detox himself from it and should be fine from here on out.  Yesterday was a breeze – Way to Go, Jack!

The next big boy adventure will be moving into a BIG BOY(aka Toddler) bed!  I ordered this one for him yesterday and after we get him settled into it for a while, Little Sister will be moving in…should be fun!  Jack LOVES LOVES LOVES his crib, so this next one might be a bit of a trial…But maybe if I get him the below sheets, it will make it more exciting – HOW CUTE ARE THEY?!!!

And Finally…Potty Training!  We had Jack’s 2.5 year appt yesterday (didn’t even flinch at the shot!) and Dr. Hartman said to GO FULL STEAM AHEAD on the Potty!  We have been slowly introducing it, and even bough Handy Manny and Diego undies, but have not gone full-force.  So…after this holiday weekend, it is Potty Boot-Camp!  Our doctor recommended not using Pull-Ups, so I foresee much more laundry in our future…But so exciting!  Good luck to Katie since she will be dealing with it the most during the day!  :-)
