Happy 9 month birthday to our little peach!
Emma had a BIG growing/development month…She is babbling like crazy (and I heard a few “MaMas” this week!), eating/gumming solid food like a champ (faves include avocado, pasta, eggs, toast, mandarin oranges, and even a quesadilla!), and is SO CLOSE to walking. She has been standing on her own for the past few weeks, but now she is just going from a sit to a stand without using anything to help her up. The girl has amazing balance like her brother and loves to just cruise around. She gets really mad when she can’t stand up and has to crawl. She also learned how to crawl up the stairs at Pop/Grandma’s house – time to put the baby gate back up!
Unfortunately, Emma also had another “sicky” month…we went back to the doctor last night, and we found out she has an ear infection this time. She has had a lot of sinus trouble in the past few months, and December seemed to be the worst – I feel so badly for her all stuffed up, coughing, etc. We have another appt with the ENT in 2 weeks, which I am hoping will result in some kind of scope/catscan to figure out what is causing her infections – sinusitis, allergies…I just want my little girl to feel better! She is usually a trooper, though – tries to keep a smile on her face, but with this latest ear infection – she was NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. :-) Daddy and I are hopeful that this is her last round of antibiotics for awhile.

This was also the month of SLEEP BOOT CAMP and she did great! We have had a little hiccup the past couple of nights with her being sick, but all in all, it is much better and she seems much better rested and is sleeping from 7pm-6:30am most days. She is also taking better and longer naps – still on 3 naps a day (one at around 7:30, one at 11:30, and then usually a late afternoon nap). Bottles are about 6oz, 4 times a day, but she is definitely phasing out of her dependence on them – she doesn’t need them to go to sleep anymore, and she is very much more interested in solid food.
The interaction with Jack and her cousins has also really increased this month – it is ADORABLE to watch them play together! The first thing she does when she wakes up is look for Jack, and tries to reach out and touch his face, smiles, and pulls his hair. He has been overall very patient and sweet with her, but they are also getting into needs to “share” things, which is an ongoing work in progress. :-)
Emma has also acquired several nicknames – Princess Peachy, Squish (as you will see from her favorite little squish face), Ems (Jack), Emmy Gracie Girl (Jack), Sassafras and others…

More adventures to come…I have a feeling that Month 10 will be a MOVING month!!! :-)
I HAVE to get Abby some of those jeggings - any thoughts on sizing??
